Student Board

The Georgetown-Qatar MUN Student Board was constituted in Spring 2012. It is responsible for the overall content of the annual high school MUN conference hosted by Georgetown-Qatar. The board decides on the conference theme, topics, committees, and chairs.

Board members are responsible for training both Georgetown and high school students in the procedures of the conference. The schedule of training is set by the board and the 'Local School Training Day' is organized by the board. The board is also in charge of editing and reviewing the background guides.

Within the committees, the board members who chair are responsible for setting the tone and professionalism of the conference. Finally, the board votes on the annual positions of Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General.

MUN Board 2016-2017

Secretary General: Nayab Rana (SFS-Q' 18)

Nayab is a Junior a Georgetown University majoring in International Politics and will be serving as the Secretary General for this years Conference. She has been doing MUN for the past 8 years and has taken part in various conferences around the world. She is a firm believer in MUN cultivating the leaders of tomorrow and thoroughly enjoys working to make that idea a reality.

 

 

 

 

Deputy Secretary General: Abdulaziz Al-Buainin (SFS-Q' 17)

 

Chair of Communication: Rania Sohail (SFS-Q' 17)

Rania is from Pakistan, and is a senior at Georgetown University SFS-Qatar, majoring in International Economics. She has been a passionate MUNer since her high school, and has participated in and chaired several conferences. She has been actively involved in the Georgetown community through MUN, Basket Ball, Business society and service learning trips.

She has served as the associate director publications for the Georgetown Business Society, and traveled to Zanzibar for Zones of Conflict, Zones of peace program. During her semester abroad she traveled to Virginia, Maryland and DC for the Alternates Break Program, where she discovered her curiosity and interest for conflict resolution. 

When not talking business or diplomacy, she is usually found eating or hibernating. She is a dog lover, foodie, and is still figuring out her love-hate relationship with dancing. Rania is very excited to be working with this year's board as the chair of communication. She is looking forward to meeting you all, and making this year's conference a truly memorable and unparalleled experience for all delegates
 

Chief of Staff: Nicole Suarez (SFS-Q' 17)

Nicole is a senior at Georgetown University and is the Chief of Staff for MUN. She has participated in 3 MUN conferences in High School and last year she helped with the Georgetown MUN. She enjoys playing sports, specifically basketball and volleyball.
