Educational Enrichment

Georgetown University in Qatar (GUQ) is committed to impacting the lives of its students, as well as sharing its expertise and resources with the wider community in Qatar.

The Educational Enrichment division of Student Life is dedicated to providing high school students with meaningful and engaging programming throughout the year.  The mission of the division is to promote academic and personal growth from students in Qatar and abroad.  With activities that vary from one-day workshops, to weekend conferences, to three-week summer course work, programming is designed to be accessible to every type of high school student.  The goal of the Educational Enrichment initiatives is to create students that are lifelong learners and ready for university-level success.

Educational Enrichment programs include the following:

Model United Nations at Georgetown-Qatar 

MUN offers students and educators resources and training sessions geared towards preparing school groups for participation in the annual Georgetown Model United Nations Conference, the oldest MUN conference in Qatar.


Planet Georgetown

PG invites students in years 10, 11 and 12 of high school to explore the world of today in order to shape the world of tomorrow.  The program is comprised of once-a-month interactive workshops with the program culminating in a week long after-school program in the spring, all geared towards personal and academic skills building.

Georgetown Pre-College Summer Program (GPS)

GPS helps prepare students for the challenges of university life. The three-week program introduces Georgetown Qatar's curriculum, provides SAT/ACT preparation sessions, includes preparatory courses in English and math, and offers study skills workshops.

  • The ninth annual GPS Program will run from July 9 - 27, 2017.
