Why did you choose Georgetown University in Qatar?

Georgetown was always my first option long before I finished high school.  I remember having a discussion with my parents suggesting that I should apply to other universities. My dad asked, "What if you don't get into Georgetown, what's your plan B?" My response was simple, "I will get into Georgetown."

I chose Georgetown for the values it stands for and inspired by their alumni, hoping that, one day, I too will be a role model for a younger generation.

What has been the most rewarding moment in your career?

Interviewing the father Emir his Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani and Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser, without a doubt. It is the highest honor for anyone in my field to interview a head of state.

What is the best career advice you received?

It might sound cliché, but you have got to love what you do. If you work a job that you’re good at but not necessarily passionate about, you can never win because you can never compete with the guy that loves it. He’ll always go the extra mile.

What advice would you offer to first-year Hoyas?

INTERNSHIPS! lots of them. You’ll thank me later.

How did your time at Georgetown help shape you into where you are today?

I am grateful to be the person that I am today. The experiences and the journey I went through at Georgetown allowed me to get here not just by giving me the tools to do my job, but by shaping my character as well.

If you could have another career what would it be?

Pilot.
