Why SFS-Q?

Quintessentially Georgetown, SFS-Q has the added benefit of being located within easy reach of the wider Middle East, the Indian Ocean region, Asia, Africa and Europe.  The University community consists of an exceptionally cosmopolitan and diverse population (currently our student body represents 44 nationalities).  The stunning and spacious campus building features state-of-the-art facilities that include the best library in the country.

Georgetown is located in Qatar's Education City along with seven other world-class universities: Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, Texas A&M, Virginia Commonwealth, Weill Cornell, HEC Paris and University College London.

Qatar’s leadership is investing hugely and thoughtfully in education and research, including a firm commitment to invest 2.8 percent of GDP in research alone.

At Georgetown in Qatar you will find yourself in a lively, open-minded and welcoming environment that is motivating and inspiring. You will contribute to the future of the people in the region and worldwide, helping shape global leaders across the private and public sector, and impacting local, regional and global society.

SFS-Q serves as a bridge between academic communities in the United States, the Gulf and the wider Middle East, and is increasingly connecting to academic communities of the Indian Ocean region, Asia, Africa and Europe.  These connections range across the spectrum of the social sciences, economics and the humanities that are taught and studied at SFS-Q as part of the Liberal Studies approach that underpins our focus on international affairs. http://qatar.sfs.georgetown.edu/about/global/
