Educational Enrichment Initiatives

SFS-Qatar shares its expertise and resources with the Doha community in a variety of ways. Opportunities range from public lectures and events to application-based programs for specific audiences. Ongoing and upcoming programs include the following:

Model United Nations at Georgetown-Qatar offers students and educators resources and training sessions geared towards preparing school groups for participation in the annual Georgetown MUN Conference in Doha.

Planet Georgetown (beginning May 2013) invites students in their early years of high school to explore the world of today in order to shape the world of tomorrow. In a series of after-school workshops, students will examine a variety of nations and then create multimedia presentations to share at the Planet Georgetown Expo. Through research and discussion, participants will begin to understand how international affairs affects them and how they can affect international affairs. Schools interested in participating should contact SFS-Qatar Enrichment Staff.

Georgetown Pre-College Summer (GPS) Program helps prepare students for the challenges of university life. The three-week program introduces SFS-Qatar's curriculum, provides SAT preparation sessions, includes preparatory courses in English and math, and offers study skills workshops. The fifth annual GPS Program will run from 29 June to 20 July 2013.

Onsite Educational Tours of the Georgetown Building in Education City are available for school groups that are either based in or visiting Doha. Interested educators and students may contact SFS-Qatar enrichment staff to schedule a mutually convenient time.
