Our Students are our Best Ambassadors
Assma Al-Adawi '09writing to The Hoya, January 2007
I speak about SFS-Q with sincerity and admiration because this institution has given me more than I can ever give back. Before Georgetown University came here, I was trudging along, with my college applications half-prepared, and I only felt mildly excited about the prospect of starting a new college life. Even after Georgetown arrived, I was still not fully aware of how prestigious an opportunity it was to be part of a university with a long tradition of academics, religious identity and a strong sense of community.
When I finally began to live as a Hoya and experience Georgetown, I was more than impressed. I felt humbled to be admitted into such a grand institution. I never really worried that the experience was not the same as it was on the main campus. Just like people feel at home on the main campus, I felt at home here at SFS-Qatar....
This institution has given so many students the chance to be outstanding, to create a generation of students who could later become the pioneers of a new, evolving society. ..... very few universities have the opportunity to broaden their horizons and reach out to a wider range of students. It is a rare opportunity [and].... We are all proud to be a part of this institution....
