Cultural Night
Celebrating the diversity of students and cultures represented in the MUN conference, SFS-Qatar students will be organizing a cultural night on Saturday, January 31st at 9 pm in the Marriott tent. The cultural night is designed to be a colorful international bazaar where each school can showcase national dress, food, flags, pictures, songs, and artifacts from their school's country.
Each school will have a table where they can display and share elements representative of their culture. For example, we encourage students to bring their countries' flags, pictures, and other small artifacts or souvenirs they can share with the MUN community. Students can don national dress as part of the display.
In addition to the cultural bazaar, there will be an opportunity for the students to step up to the mic and recite a national anthem or other cultural songs, read poetry, or perform cultural dances or skits.
We strongly encourage each school to bring at least 50 small giveaways that represents your school's country. There will be over 350 students at the conference, but we don't expect you to provide a giveaway for each student. For instance, a school from Qatar could have several boxes of dates that they encourage students to taste. The Qatari schools will combine with SFS-Qatar students to create a Qatar display.
So come prepared with something to share!
Please contact Aalaa Abuzaakouk with questions about the Cultural Night.
