2009 MUN Application Information
The 2009 MUN Conference will be hosted at the Marriott Hotel in Doha from Thursday, January 29th to Sunday, February 1st. To apply, please complete this form and submit legible passport copies to qatarmun@georgetown.edu by Friday, October 3rd, 2008. You will learn of your school's acceptance status within two weeks of the deadline.
The fee for international delegations will be $3500 U.S. for a team of six students and one adult advisor ($500 per student and for the first teacher). This participation fee will cover air travel, airport transfers in Doha to/from the hotel, visas, hotel accommodation, two meals a day, and conference activities. (If international delegations bring more than one advisor, there will be an additional charge of $1000 per additional advisor.) Payment must be received in full by wire transfer or check within one month of acceptance to the conference. (by November 17th)
Please note: Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar will cover international airfare for international delegations only up to $8,000. If your delegation's airfare costs more than $8,000, you will be responsible for paying the difference. For example, if the total airfare of your school's delegation is $12,000, you would be responsible for $4,000 of this total. Payments can be made via check or wire transfer. Bank details will be included in your letter of acceptance in October.
Financial assistance can be granted only in a partial waiver of the delegation fee. Please detail the amount and circumstances of the request. A very limited amount of funding is available at the discretion of Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar.
For your application to be considered complete, you must submit all student and adult passport copies by October 3, 2008. This is so we can process your Qatari visas. The following must be legible for each person (students and adults):
