Hiring Process For Managers
Please find below an outline of steps for hiring various groups at SFS-Qatar including:
- Full-time staff
- Academic and Administrative Professionals (AAPs)
- Temporary staff
- Special Employees
- Students
- Research Assistants
If you have any questions regarding any of the procedures outlined below please contact SFS-Q Human Resources at sfsqhr@georgetown.edu.
Recruitment of Full-time/Part-time Staff or AAPs
- Confirm budget approval for position with the Director of Planning and Compliance, SFS-Q Finance.
- Contact Facilities Director, SFS-Q Facilities Department to determine office location.
- Complete IT Equipment Request Form
- If the position is a new position or, if the position description needs to be revised, please complete a blank position description form and submit to HR for review and evaluation.
- Inform the Recruitment and Retention Officer, so that he/she can complete a Recruitment Request Form. Once the Recruitment Request Form has been signed and processed, the position will be posted on the SFS-Qatar and Main Campus website.
- Shortly after the position has been posted, HR will send a Recruitment Summary to the person receiving CVs and/or resumes. After the position is filled and the recruitment process is completed, the hiring supervisor will need to complete the Recruitment Summary to give a report on the selection of the particular position. Once this is received, it will close the recruitment file.

Recruitment of Temporary Staff
(The process for hiring special employees may be found by clicking here.)- Confirm budget approval with the Director or Planning and Compliance in SFS-Qatar Finance.
- Contact Facilities Director, SFS-Qatar Facilities Department to determine office/work station location.
- Complete IT Equipment Request Form
- Draft description of the temporary position. Please be sure to note on the description the start date and duration of employment.
- Contact Recruitment and Retention Officer to discuss and initiate recruitment activity.
