Maha Khatib is Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs at Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service in Qatar. She earned her B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology from the American University of Beirut and her A.M. and Ph.D. in Socio-Cultural Anthropology from Brown University. Her research interests include gender issues and social change in the Middle East and North Africa, especially the Gulf region. She is also interested in visual representations of emerging and changing communities in the Middle East. She has conducted fieldwork in the United States, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates. Prior to joining SFS-Qatar, She held both faculty and administrative positions in the New England area. In her last two positions, at Bentley University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), she served as director of academic programs involving the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia respectively.

Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar just concluded the Georgetown Pre-College Series (GPS) which gave prospective undergraduates a taste of college life and a unique opportunity to gain valuable information on the admissions process.
