Honorarium Policy
I. Scholarly Conferences sponsored by SFS-Qatar
A) Invited participants will normally receive round-trip business class airfare, food and accommodations for arrival the day before the conference and departure following the conference (with extra night if required by flight schedule). Guests will normally pay for alcohol, phone calls, internet use, laundry and other incidentals.
B) An honorarium of $1,000 will normally be paid for the delivery of commissioned paper for publication.
C) No honorarium will normally be paid for conference participation.
II. Visiting speakers
A) Invited speakers at sponsored public events (including the Distinguished Speakers Series, the Faculty Lecture Series, and other similar events) will normally receive round-trip business class airfare, food and accommodations, as per (I.A) above, plus an honorarium of $5,000.
B) Invited visitors who deliver lectures on campus, such as to classes, meetings of faculty or other similar gatherings, will normally receive round-trip business class airfare, food and accommodations, as per (1) above, but no honorarium.
III. General
A) Invitations and payments to speakers must be made by authorized officers of SFS-Q based on budgets approved by the Finance Office.
B) Exceptions to the above principles must receive prior approval by the Dean.

- Georgetown University in Qatar Offers Pre-College Series to Hoya Hopefuls
Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar just concluded the Georgetown Pre-College Series (GPS) which gave prospective undergraduates a taste of college life and a unique opportunity to gain valuable information on the admissions process.
