SFS-Qatar to Host its First Career Fair
Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar (SFS-Qatar) is getting ready to host its first career fair on Thursday, March 12, 2009. Open only to the SFS-Qatar students, the inaugural career fair will give employers the chance to discuss future professional opportunities with the students, while at the same time preparing SFS-Qatar student body for the job market.
SFS-Qatar will host high profile employers on campus at the fair. ExxonMobil, Qatar Finance House, Barwa, HSBC and PricewaterhouseCoopers are some of the organizations representing the private sector. In addition to this, representatives such as Muslim Aid, Qatar Red Crescent and Reach Out to Asia will be available from the nongovernmental sector. The fair also includes research institutions and think tanks such as, RAND, Brookings Center, The Arabic Democracy Foundation, and Aljazeera Research Center.
Employers will participate with booth exhibits and information sessions at the career fair. They will be available at the booth exhibits to promote their organization and talk about future professional opportunities for possible internship and full-time positions in a private setting. At Lecture Hall A, there will be rolling information sessions throughout the day from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM by some of the participating employers. Maersk Oil – Qatar, Brookings Doha Center and Hill and Knowlton are three of the contributors to the information sessions.
