Georgetown University Holds an Information Session
The Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar is hosting an Information Session for interested high school students and their parents on Sunday, 30 November 2008. The session will take place at the LAS Building in Education City from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30. The event is open to the public.
The program will feature presentations on the academic and student life at SFS-Qatar as well as the admissions process. Potential applicants and their families will also have a chance to explore possible career paths available to students with a Georgetown degree.
After the presentations, high school students will be given the opportunity to establish contact with SFS-Qatar Admissions staff and start the application process. The Admissions staff will be giving students tips on submitting a successful application and maximizing their chances for being accepted.
“It is important for students and their parents to attend these kinds of events so that they can make informed decisions about plans for higher education and eventual careers,” said Liz Kepferle, Director of Admissions at SFS-Qatar. “This is an excellent opportunity to speak directly to the people who can answer the common and uncommon questions about admission requirements, financing four years of college, and the doors that a Georgetown education will open.”
Established in 2005, the School of Foreign Service in Qatar offers a four-year liberal arts program which leads to a bachelor's degree in international affairs. Students are exposed to a wide array of subjects such as economics, culture, history, law and politics. Graduates of the program can pursue a variety of careers including international business, government, diplomacy, and consulting.
