What is an emergency?
An emergency is an injury or illness or situtation that is life threatening.
What is an urgency?
An urgency is a an acute injury or acute illness or situation that needs immediate professional assistance.
What should I do if I see someone in need for urgent or emergent care?
1. Call the person’s name to get her/his attention
2. If the person is unconscious or does not respond to you immediately call the emergency: 999
3. If the person is conscious ask permission to help
4. Get help from another person
5. Assign tasks to other persons for calling emergency or getting more help
6. Ask standby observers to leave space for the person and do not crowd the scene
What do I do if I have an emergency after business hours?
If you feel you have an emergency, go to the closet emergency room. Here are the name and contact number for hospitals in Doha:
Hamad Accident and Emergency: 439-2222
Rumeillah Hospital: 439-4444
Doha Clinic Hospital (private): 432-7300
American Hospital (private): 442-1999
Al Ahli Hospital (private): 489-8000

If you are unable to reach this number or you are off campus, dial 999. It is recommended that you inform Student Affairs on call staff at 503-9044 for further assistance and guidance.

During business hours you may cotnact Qatar Founation Medical Clinic at 482-6888 for medical advice. If you are unable to reach these number or you are off campus dial 999.
