Georgetown University: School of Foreign Service in Qatar

During your tenure at SFS-Qatar, you may undertake travel to pursue professional development, meet with your Main Campus counterparts or for other authorized business and scholarly reasons. To assist you with your business travel arrangements, SFS-Qatar’s Office of Finance and Business Services has contracted the travel management service to Mannai Travel, a leading local travel management company.

As part of the contractual arrangement, Mannai Travel has seconded a full time travel coordinator to SFS-Q who will assist staff and faculty with business travel arrangements. The SFS-Q Travel Coordinator is Bakash Syed who is located in Office A038B and can be contacted on 492-7127. All travel related requests should be addressed to sfsqtravel@georgetown.edu.

To initiate business travel request:

1. Complete the online 'Travel Authorization Form (TAF)', on submission you will receive a ‘Travel Authorization Request’ in your email. Forward this email to your unit head for approval.
2. Unit heads should review the request and ‘forward’ the email request with their approval to sfsqtravel@georgetown.edu. This has been designed to eliminate paper approval and provide supervisors the flexibility to approve while away from the office.

Mannai Travel will arrange for a leisure travel consultant to be available on campus for 2 hours every afternoon. The availability of this person will vary from time to time and will generally be driven by demand. If you wish to avail of personal travel or hospitality services please contact Bakash who will either direct you to the Leisure Travel Consultant or assist you directly.
