Financial Aid
There are several types of financial aid which may be available to SFS-Qatar students. Please contact Student Affairs Officer Benjamin Shaw for more details.
Installment Payment Plan: If you do not settle your entire bill by the semester deadline, you will be put on the Installment Payment Plan for the remaining balance due. The SFS-Qatar Finance Department will calculate the amounts which you will owe for each installment. You will be notified of these amounts before the first installment is due; however, you will not receive separate invoices for each installment. You will be responsible for providing the SFS-Qatar Finance Department with payment before each due date.
Fall payment deadlines for students under the installment plan will be will be the 15th day of September, October, November and December.
Spring payment deadlines will be the 1st of February, March, April and May.
Submission of post-dated checks to SFS-Qatar Finance made payable to ‘Qatar Foundation’ on the first installment date of each semester is preferred, but not required.
Please note that even though you are on Installment Payment Plan, you could be blocked from registering for a subsequent semester (see Past Due Accounts) Contact Rahul Chandran in the SFS-Qatar Finance Department. He can be reached at +974-492-7036 or through email.
Ministry or Other Sponsorship: Qatari citizens may qualify for tuition sponsorship through the assistance of the Higher Education Institute. Please contact Mrs. Fawzia Al-Naama at the HEI Advising Center at +974-4560714 or +974-4560715 for further information. Students expecting ministry or other sponsorship must provide SFS-Qatar with a copy of their award letter so that we may arrange to bill the sponsor on your behalf. All tuition charges except for textbooks will be covered by HEI. Textbook charges will be paid by students themselves.

QF Work Study - The QF student employment program is aimed to help students in Education City gain work experience as well enable them to earn extra money while doing so. All students in Education City may work in any of the branch campuses or centers within Education City. To qualify for this program, a student must be enrolled in one of the branch campuses, Academic Bridge Program or Qatar Academy. A student may work up to 20 hours a week while classes are in session, and 40 hours during class breaks. QF Loan (Hamad bin Khalifa Financial Aid Program): The Qatar Foundation provides financial aid in the form of payments for a specified amount of tuition and other expenses on behalf of selected financial aid applicants while attending the universities in Education City.
Please note that Qatar Foundation will consider all scholarship amounts as ‘income’ in making financial aid (loan) awards.

Students have to register at https://fas.qf.org.qa in order for Qatar Foundation to process applications.
Recipients of this type of financial aid must provide SFS-Qatar with a copy of their award letter in order to have the appropriate amounts credited toward their bills. Any outstanding amounts must be paid in full.
FAFSA Aid (US citizens only): Many Georgetown students meet a portion of their college costs by borrowing through federally-sponsored and/or private student and family loan programs. The primary source of these loans is the Federal Stafford Loan Program. Some students with exceptional need may be offered a Federal Perkins Loan. 529 Plans also fall into this category.
