About the SFS-Qatar Web Site
The SFS-Qatar web site is intended to communicate the academic excellence, international presence and research that Georgetown University puts out, miles away from its home campus, in Doha, Qatar. This web site is designed to guide prospective students and their families, along with providing online resources for current SFS-Qatar Students, and Faculty and Staff.

Stories
Site homepage is divided into three sections highlighting SFS-Qatar stories in the following areas:
Research and Scholarship: Stories under this section showcase research and scholar events conducted by SFS-Qatar Faculty and the Center for International and Regional Studies (CIRS).
Living and Learning: These features illustrate the extra-curricular life of SFS-Qatar students, including athletic and student organizations events, and service learning projects.
Working & Teaching: Visit this section to learn about teaching and working experience as SFS-Qatar Faculty and Staff. Occasionally, stories under this piece also feature professional engagement of the SFS-Qatar students; such as the work put out by the Career Development Office.
Press Releases and Media Advisories
Office of Public Affairs frequently sends out press releases to local and regional media outlets. Media outlets are encouraged to use media advisories to plan ahead for upcoming SFS-Qatar events.
SFS-Qatar Events
Georgetown University in Qatar continually organizes events and activities open to the general public. To follow our events, visit the online public calendar. Besides this, the Community Relations Group maintains an external Community Calendar, compiling general interest events in and around Doha. SFS-Qatar web site also includes calendars tailored towards current students and Faculty and Staff.

- SFS-Qatar Students Receive UREP Grants
Three students from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar were awarded research grants in the latest round of funding from the Undergraduate Research Experience Program (UREP). (June 29, 2009) - SFS-Qatar Sets the Stage for Summer with Planet Georgetown Program
Later this month, Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar (SFS-Qatar) will host its second annual Planet Georgetown summer enrichment series for youth from local independent schools throughout Qatar. (June 19, 2009) - Mehran Kamrava Appointed Interim Dean at SFS-Qatar
Georgetown has named Mehran Kamrava as interim dean at SFS-Qatar. Starting August 1, Kamrava will succeed the current SFS-Qatar Dean James Reardon-Anderson, who will return to Main Campus in Washington, DC. (June 16, 2009)
