Accommodations
The goal of accommodations is to provide access to educational programs and co-curricular activities. Some general information about accommodations:
- Accommodations are provided on an individual basis as needs arise. Accommodations are designed around the needs of the student.
- Examples of academic accommodations include alternate format materials, assistive technology, extended time for examinations, interpreters for the deaf, note takers, readers, scribes for examinations, telecommunication device for the deaf.
- Providing accommodations such as extended test time or altered test formats is the responsibility of the faculty member. Student Wellness Counseling may provide suggestions or assistance when necessary to implement the accommodation.
- Student Wellness Services would also supports students with issues and situations related to advocacy, accessibility, on-campus housing, transportation services, and attendant care.
- Student Wellness Counseling along with Office of Academic Resources is a resource for information including, but not limited to, tutoring services, study skills and time management, community resources, disability awareness, and various university services.
- Although the University is not required to accommodate students with temporary disabilities, faculty and staff may provide assistance such as recruiting volunteer note-takers or giving extensions on tests or paper deadlines.

Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar just concluded the Georgetown Pre-College Series (GPS) which gave prospective undergraduates a taste of college life and a unique opportunity to gain valuable information on the admissions process. On November 13 and 14, Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in Qatar (SFS-Qatar) and Institute for the Study of Diplomacy (ISD) hosted a crisis simulation exercise for students at Education City. (November 22, 2009) - Student Gets Education at International Finance Conference
This October, Georgetown student Miodrag Stamboldziev (SFS ’11) was able to put his international relations education to use while attending the Annual Meeting of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund in Istanbul, Turkey. (November 08, 2009)
