Academic Services
The Office of Academic Services (OAS) provides academic support for students enrolled in the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar.
OAS offers tutoring on college-level writing, reading, and economics. In addition, OAS offers assistance with strengthening language and study skills. Tutors work with students individually and also hold group study sessions. Computers, a printer, and a copy machine are available for student use.
Please check the white board outside of OAS for tutor schedules and group study session times. There is a clipboard for making appointments with writing tutors.
OAS is located in Suite A024 in the LAS building, near the Student Affairs offices. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday.

On January 14, 2010, Dr. Khalid Bin Mohamed Al-Attiyah, Minister of State for International Cooperation, visited students at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar to discuss internship and employment opportunities with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Lieber entitled “Why the Declinists Are Wrong About America,” at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar (SFS-Qatar). On January 10, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Danilo Türk, spoke at Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar (SFS-Qatar). The lecture, hosted by the Center for International and Regional Studies (CIRS), drew students, staff and faculty from across Education City and focused on the state of democracy in our world.
