Grants and Research Management
Purpose
The founding purpose of Georgetown University and the goal of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar (SFS-Qatar) are to promote understanding and learning among men and women of different nations and faiths in all dimensions of the human experience. SFS-Qatar, like its parent body the School of Foreign Service in Washington, DC, pursues its mission by supporting scholarly research and education in the social sciences and humanities – including Economics, Government, History, Languages and Literatures, Theology and Philosophy – with a special emphasis on international affairs and by encouraging all members of the community to engage in activities that serve others.
Academic research is a critical element to the health and vitality of any university. However, the faculty and students of SFS-Qatar engage not only in research, but also in other types of scholarly activities including publications, conferences, symposia, lectures, pedagogical innovations and service learning endeavors.
