Laptop computers

Each student enrolled at the Qatar campus will be assigned a laptop computer. 

The laptop is distributed with the following standard software:

  • MS Office 2003
  • Cisco VPN
  • Firefox 2.0.0.6
  • Thunderbird 2.0.0.6
  • SSH (Secure Shell) 
  • Adobe Reader 8.0
  • Java Runtime Engine 
  • Quicktime 
  • Macromedia Plugins 
  • Power DVD 
  • RecordNow

Connecting to a Network Printer 

Your laptop computer will be set up to print to the following network printers (all located in the LAS building):

  • Student workspace (between the two lounges)
  • Library - There are two B/W printers and one color

Getting Help

If you are unable to print to one of the printers listed above or have any problems with your University-issued computer please contact contact OIT
